Preparing your interior project: the checklist
Before a first meeting with a designer or interior architect, a little information saves a lot of time and money.
Uses before style
Note who uses the space, when and for what. What bothers you today matters more than what looks good on Pinterest.
Measurements and a plan
A plan, even a rough one, with the main dimensions, ceiling height and the position of windows, sockets and water supplies.
Photos and inspiration
Photos of the existing space from several angles, and around ten inspiration images. Say what you like in each: the colour, the material, the light.
Budget and timing
A realistic range, separating design, building work and furniture. And your date constraints: a shop opening, a move, a quiet period.
